Why is Home Ed Amazing?
Students taught to mastery not to pass test
Working to the pace of the student allows for no gaps in knowledge as well as reducing boredom and frustration, which many students feel in schools. Matching the student in pace also allows for natural peaks and troughs which every student comes across during study of any subject.

Less loss of knowledge
By not following the normal school term times, and take holidays when suites family instead allows for more continuous learning. A child does not have to re learn as often as children at schools due the number of long holidays which they have, with no use of the knowledge they have gathered.
Cover topics faster than schools
As students will not have to wait for other peers to move on to the next topic, this allows the student to progress faster than they would normally in a traitional school situation, even when accounting for time which they would have been slower than the average peer. The average home schooled child in the USA is 4 grades above their peers by the time they reach 7th grade.

There is not commute to get to school, this means there is no stress to get out the door on time. Along with this the actual time which is spent commuting to school each day becomes spare time, which can be used as family sees fit.
Less wasted time
As there is little to no movement between classrooms, no assembly's, no registrations at start of every lesson, no notices, no waiting for class to settle down or teacher sorting out a situation with one student. There are also no faffing with learning how to line up or walk without talking. There is no teacher training days. No being told off for things other class mates have done. There is also no class or school parties to interrupt learning. Lastly there is no tests and the time these take up in both prep and actually taking them, you already know exactly where you student is in a home school setting.

There is a direct link between pressure on children and their future chances of developing a mental healt difficulties, which is not suprising as many adults crumble under pressure and stress, there is no reason to think it will not effect children in the same way or have a deeper impact because of their age and illequiped with ways to deal with it. The UK has one of the highest rates of children with mental health issues in the world, it is not suprising to learn the UK is also one of highest rates of examinations in schools.

Following the child's ability, allows you to take jumps incrementally, when they are ready to take the next step. This means you will not end up with children who can't function after school day because they are too tired and mentally exhausted. Allowing for quality family time and a less stressed household. A 4 year old and an 11 year old have very different abilities for concentration and have different play needs but both in a traditional school will be given the same amount of breaks and the same length in school day as well as the same start and finish times.

More supportive enviroment
There is no one else on the planet who wants to see your child achieve their best, than the parents and direct family. There is just not. No one else is going to take it more seriously, be more helpful, bend over backwards as much as those who love the child will. A teacher will not put your child first before their own family, they will not go to the ends of the earth. Children thrive when they are supported and loved, with all the opportunities at their feet.

Cheaper to Home educate than to send child to state school or private school
Please do look at our cost section for full break down. But most parents could save over £400 a year by home educating. It could be considerably more depending on the age of the child , the courses which the family choose and also the number of local verses out of town trips which they take and to where.
Cheaper holidays
Holidays abroad and in the UK are cheaper outside the school holidays.
Cheaper private tution
Operating outside normal school hours means you can get deals with tutors for their quieter hours, anything from driving lessons to Gymnastic lessons.
Spend where and when you want

Subjects for modern world
Many of the highest paid jobs of this decade are in jobs that did not exist 30 years ago. The information which is needed in the future is out of kilter with what students are learning today. The ephisis is put on the wrong skills often, there is more focus on handwriting than touch typing, even though the majority of adult will write day to day on computers more than physically. Both are important but not at the expense of each other.

How many times have we heard a child say they want to be a firefighter or nurse, but in fact they have no understanding of what that job entails. Its amazing how many people after university would have done a different course if they had known more about the subject and jobs available before they started it. One of the great things about home education is the ability to dive into subjects which interest the child. To organise shadowing of profession, go to lectures at universities and generally test the waters for your child in numerous different ways.

Many children in schools are mostly spoon fed information, they have no time to work out how to find information for themselves, they have very little opportunity to explore subjects which interest them, and when they are it is not a free choice. For example doing a project of their favourite animals. These projects are done to fit the national curriculum and not because the child has an interest. These passions are supported and developed in Home Education.
